He was born on June 26th, 1984, in Parkersburg, West Virginia and has inspired to be a basketball player ever since.
As a child Deron was very athletic, winning two state championships in Texas by the age of twelve. Williams attended The Colony High School in The Colony, Texas. In The Colony he led his high school team to two straight state semifinals. Williams played his college ball at the University of Illinois. Williams won many awards as a college basketball player, and led his team to the NCAA Championship in his junior year, where they lost to the University of North Carolina. Williams was drafted 3rd overall in the 2005 draft, by the Utah Jazz. Deron played 5 seasons on the Utah Jazz, until traded to the Nets in the middle of his 6th season. After his 6th season, the NBA had a lockout, and during the lockout he played overseas for a Turkish Basketball League. Unlike Jeff Green, Deron was smart enough to sign a contract that let him come back to the NBA as soon as the lockout ends. Williams has played in the olympics twice, representing the U.S. Williams has been named an NBA All-Star multiple times in his young career. Deron dreamed of playing in the NBA his whole life, and now he is living the dream.
